In is with great sadness and sorrow, that students and faculty say goodbye to recent graduate, Aly Zain Lakdawala. Having graduated from USF on May 1st, 2009 with a degree in international studies and philosophy, Lakdawala kept up the spirit of volunteering and left on May 8th to Costa Rica to partake in a 2 week volunteering mission with the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement. It was during this trip that Lakdawala lost his life. While swimming with other students in the Pacific Ocean near Matapalo, Lakdawala was caught in a rip tide current and went missing.
The University of South Florida Police Department is currently investigating several thefts, which have taken place in the College of Health over the past three weeks. The suspect, pictured above, was seen on USF security cameras entering a room in the nursing area and removing three laptops. The thefts occurred at the same time as some credit card were reported missing from the clinical area marked "Authorized Personal Only."
The suspect typically wears a backpack and carries a manila envelope or some loose-leaf paper to pose as a student.
