The Women's NCAA Final Four came charging into Downtown Tampa this weekend and it was much more than just a basketball game. Fans from all over the country gathered for the extravaganza in the Downtown area which was heavily decorated for the event. The NCAA fan festival known as Hoop City was the big event for fans of all ages. Hoop City was held at the massive Tampa Convention Center and it was quite an amazing experience for any sports fan. As soon as you walked into the massive building you were bombarded by rows of electronic basketball machines. You could test your speed and accuracy on these machines while you were given free Coke product samples. There were games galore for fans of all ages. Many different corporate sponsors had booths where fans could play different kinds of shooting games to win all sorts of prizes. There was even a model college campus featuring every sport you could imagine including golf, baseball, and soccer. After hours of fun at Hoop City, fans could walk over to the St. Pete Times Forum where players from all four teams were signing autographs. The lines were absolutely massive but well worth the wait. Fans were also invited inside the arena to watch the teams practice. Overall the Women's NCAA Final Four was a tremendous success for the city of Tampa. The National Championship game tonight will be the culmination of the weekend's events. Stanford will face off with Tennessee at 8:30pm from a sold out St. Pete Times Forum.
