Marketing Coordinator Internship
Mid-America Festivals
The Marketing Internship program includes marketing, media, promotional and special events duties.
Projects may include, but are not limited to:
1. Advertising: Arranging trade advertising with print and broadcast media, coordination of advertising production, calling to renew and generate new accounts.
2. Promotion: Working with Festival promotions and event planning such as give-aways, promotional pieces, secondary events, radio interviews, and pre-season promotions.
3. Special Events: Publicity events (parades, press party, character appearances, etc.) and Festival special events such as Highland Games, wine festival and radio promos.
4. Media Relations: Preparing marketing materials including press kit, newsletter, playbill, media kits, contacting media and press releases.
5. Miscellaneous: Maintaining marketing databases, trade ticket distribution, and incentive program.
Additional information:
Skills required: Strong written and oral communication skills, multi-tasking, organization, must be out-going, and respond well to pressure and deadlines.
Course Work: Marketing, business, advertising, public relations, communications or sales. Basic Word and Excel computer skills necessary.
Hours: Full-time seasonal (Jan – April). Office hours are M-F, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Maximum 40 hours a week.
Must be available to work some nights and weekends.
